Although it is possible to hand stamp desired detail into blank plates there is also an array of machinery that can make this much more efficient and consistent. A dot peen machine, engraver or laser marker are great when adding detail to parts.

Although colourful blank labels may contribute to the joy of the person marking them because of their striking bold colours, they are also useful for drawing attention to themselves on a product. As there is a range of colours available it is also useful for if different parts of a product need to be differentiated between, this would mean less details to be marked as the colours can help to decipher.
