Functional Labels for use in Outdoor Applications
GSM Online Label Sales can manufacture functional labels to meet your specification and these can include a QR code to allow for minimum physical contact.
What is a QR Code?
A QR code is created by printing a series of squares and pixels in a unique pattern which, once scanned, reveals a url or unique data. If the QR code is linked to a url or webpage the information displayed is effectively editable. This is useful for displaying menus because should items need updating e.g ingredients or prices, the information within the url can easily be amended. Because of the versatility of the label it makes them the perfect option for many applications.
Where can they be used?
At 1mm thick our anodised aluminium QR code labels are ideal for use in restaurants and bars where the labels should be set into a recess to protect from diners/drinkers spillages. These can include fixing holes to screw them onto a table or 3M adhesive to allow a quicker application.
Anodising aluminium seals the printed QR code beneath the anodic layer ensuring that the label can be successfully located outdoors. This also prevents any scrapes or scuffs from removing the printed detail.
An alternative to our metal label would be a plastic version, polycarbonate. We manufacture polycarbonate QR code labels because they are also very durable. The uv ink is reverse printed on the material and then adhesive is applied to the rear. Therefore, the detail printed is effectively sandwiched between the material and the adhesive making it very difficult to amend or remove.
A plastic version is perfect for use for many applications, an example is to log attendance by scanning the QR code and, with 3M 468 adhesive to the rear, they can be stuck to almost anything. Common applications are for adhering to doors or windows to log attendance at a venue.
