How Asset Labels can save your time
Logistics can be painful and organising assets is sometimes a nightmare but ordering asset labels from GSM Online Label Sales is a step to achieving great asset management success. Here is a guide of how to start the process.
Record your data
A good way to start recording assets is to match each item to a unique number. Serial numbers are a great way to begin and can be personalised by adding a prefix to the serial number. For example when we tagged our assets we used the prefix ‘GSM’ followed by a serial number e.g GSM0001. This makes the serial number personalised.
Select Material
We can manufacture your asset labels on a variety of material dependent upon your application. Plastic asset labels are manufactured using 0.25mm thick velvet textured clear polycarbonate that is reverse printed so that the ink is protected by the plastic. This then has 3M 468 adhesive backing to the rear so it is automatically self-adhesive, saving application time. Because the plastic asset label is flexible it makes it the perfect option for applying to substrates that may be curved. These can also be used externally as UV inks are used to print the detail and the ink is then protected by the material from further elements.
Alternatively, there is the option to use 1mm thick anodised aluminium as asset tags. These are strong and robust enough for use in the harshest of environments. They can be fixed using either 3M 468 adhesive or rivet/fixing holes.
